We have completed the work implementing regional safeguards to comply with privacy regulations in the SmartThings Classic app. Existing users can continue using SmartThings Classic without interruption. New users can once again sign up in the SmartThings Classic app in all supported countries with the exception of South Korea.

Scheduled maintenance to comply with changing privacy regulations.
In order to enhance user privacy and comply with changing regulations, new user signup in the SmartThings Classic app will be temporarily suspended.

New users can signup and connect their devices using the new SmartThings app. Existing SmartThings Classic app users may still access the app without interruption. This planned outage will begin around 6pm ET today. We will provide an update once the work is complete and functionality is fully restored.
