We implemented new monitoring systems to ensure low battery notifications are correctly delivered. We will continue monitoring performance and reduce the frequency of updates unless there is a change in status.

Update
We continue investigating the root cause of the errant “low battery” notifications that were observed yesterday. Low-battery notifications may still be postponed or not sent while we ensure that no further incorrect notifications are sent.

Update
We continue to work on the root cause of the issue. During our investigation low-battery notifications may be postponed or not sent. This does not impact any push messages besides low-battery notifications in either SmartThings app (SmartThings or SmartThings Classic). We will provide another update tomorrow morning.

We have identified an issue causing errant “low battery” notifications to be sent to a small number of users. We’ve taken steps to ensure no further similar notifications are sent and are working to identify the root cause.
